Dear friend,
How are you? It is so nice to meet you! I hope you will look kindly upon my courage to call you friend, despite us having never met.
As years gifted me with perspective, I understood my significance in the fabric of life. Today, I am trying to deconstruct myself and live courageously in line with the values I stand for. It took me more than 40 winters to notice, accept and forgive the games I learned to play in order to conceal what truly feels right to me. Now I can finally stop playing pretence. Showing my true self involves writing to you.
As humans, we have far more in common than we like to admit, and we focus far too much on details that divide us. I find myself exhausted by all the terrible dangers lurking behind every click. We pretend to live in a dreadful world. Yet when I look around me and see the beauty and kindness that surrounds me, this feels untrue. I turn to you, my friend, because I want to celebrate our similarities and creativity. Let’s have uplifting conversations about what unites us, what empowers us, and to challenge our minds to imagine a future we both want to live in. I am so very curious about how such a future looks for you!
My version of an ideal future is based on the welfare of our planet. This includes us, humans, as one of many amazing pieces that compose our home. I have lived most of my life afraid to question the self-proclaimed importance of humans in the ecosystem that cradles us. Slowly, I realized that the loudest voices belong to those too afraid to consider other ideas of evolution than competition and force. Yet the majority of our voices are soft, friendly and crave community. We are builders more than we are destroyers. Our hearts are full of love and we thrive when we take care of each other. I would not be able to write this for you to read instantly across the globe, were it not so.
I would like to continue to describe my thoughts about being genuine. To tell you about the days when I go to hug trees. I want to explore with you better ways to take care of each other. I’d like to offer you a little glimpse into my world, imbued with emotionally charged thoughts, big hopes, and tiny adventures. I welcome a glimpse into your world. I want to understand your adventures, to learn the lessons you are willing to teach and to try seeing life through your lenses. My hope is that, in sharing this, we will inspire each other, nurture our growth and, in time, forge a future we really want to experience. If nothing less, I’d like to build the hope of serenity that lurks behind a click. Would you join me?
